Job Title: Certified Pharmacy Tech - Travel Job (#447295)

We're hiring an experienced pharmacy technician for a contract role in Boston, MA, where your expertise will support pharmacists in delivering safe, timely medication distribution for hospitalized patients. In this role you will assist with medication delivery, inventory management, Pyxis and carousel support, and central pharmacy workflows. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts pharmacy technician license (required).
  • National Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or ExCPT) (required).
  • Minimum 2 years inpatient pharmacy technician experience (required).
  • BLS certification (required).
  • Experience with Pyxis automated dispensing systems (required).
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record (preferred).
  • Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) is a valuable asset (preferred).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3–4 years inpatient pharmacy experience working with Pyxis and Epic (preferred).
  • Previous experience supporting carousel operations and automated dispensing cabinet replenishment (preferred).


Assignment Details

  • Shift Hours: 07:00-15:00.
  • Schedule: 5x8.
  • May be required to support medication delivery throughout the hospital and clinic areas.

Impacting Patient Care

The pharmacy technician supports inpatient pharmacy operations through medication distribution, inventory management, automated dispensing cabinet support, and central pharmacy workflows. Responsibilities include timely delivery of STAT and scheduled medications, Pyxis pulls and replenishment, carousel inventory support, medication returns and restocking, cycle counts, assisting with pneumatic tube and Hospital at Home workflows, and maintaining documentation in pharmacy systems. The role requires adherence to hospital policies, USP standards, and regulatory requirements to promote medication safety and operational continuity.
